Dry Creek Vineyard Wines at the 2009 SAG Awards

My parents grow chardonnay grapes for Dry Creek Vineyard, which is the official wine of the SAG Awards. Yes, this means Brad Pitt will be drinking our wine. I always knew we had a connection...

For the ninth consecutive year, Dry Creek Vineyard wines were chosen as the official wines of the 15th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards®. The 2009 SAG Awards show will be simulcast live on TNT and TBS from the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center on Sunday, January 25, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT, 7:00 p.m. CT, and 6:00 p.m. MT.

More than 1,200 guests will enjoy Dry Creek Vineyard wines throughout the evening, including
at 90 tables for dinner and at two fully stocked wine tasting bars. Second generation winery owner Kim Stare Wallace will be on hand to personally pour her family’s iconic wines. On the tables, celebrity guests will enjoy the winery’s premier Cabernet Sauvignon – 2004 Endeavour, along with the supple and elegant 2006 Russian River Chardonnay. Over 500 bottles will be served during the show, featuring the winery’s Sweepstakes winning (2008 Sonoma County Harvest Fair) 2007 Fumé Blanc, 2006 Chardonnay, 2006 Old Vine Zinfandel and 2004 Endeavour Cabernet Sauvignon.

Accompanying Kim this year will be her daughter, Taylor Wallace. “This is an especially memorable occasion as I’m bringing Taylor as a surprise for her 16th birthday. I’ve got to do something to lure her into the family business and I figure introducing our wines to celebrities and other high powered entertainment professionals could be just the thing!” The Screen Actors Guild Awards® is the only awards show in the entertainment industry where the actors vote for actors. Peers are awarded SAG Awards® in both the television and motion picture categories. For this reason, it is one of the most well attended and highly anticipated gatherings of Hollywood’s A-list of the awards season.
